State of Missouri receives federal Second Chance Act grant
On September 15th, 2011 the Missouri Department of Corrections was awarded $412,355 to support their efforts to reduce recidivism and improve public safety. Second Chance in Action (SCIA) is an innovative program which targets moderate and high risk women returning to rural southeast Missouri. The grant allows Missouri to continue the pilot program which began in October of 2010.
