The Missouri state-owned facility Algoa Correctional Center (ACC) comprised approximately 319 acres upon purchase but was first used as a correctional facility in January 1985. There are 16 buildings on the facility grounds to include general population housing units, a green house, administrative segregation, two maintenance buildings, a cafeteria and dining hall, education classrooms, offices, and a chapel. The facility was originally built in 1932 as a reformatory for first-time felons between the ages of 17 and 25. At ACC, there are several different types of programs available to residents to include vocational work programs. They also offer three volunteer opportunities available to residents to work within or outside of the facility. Please visit their social media (Facebook) to learn more about specific employee recognitions that are given at ACC or other information regarding upcoming personnel activities.
