Weekly advisories summarize serious assaults on corrections officers and other staff members in the line of duty as well as major disturbances and other significant incidents occurring in Missouri Department of Corrections facilities.
Feb. 24-March 1, 2020
Tipton Correctional Center: At approximately 7:40 a.m. on Feb. 25, 2020, an offender assaulted an officer. The offender kicked the officer, striking the officer in the lower leg. Additional officers responded, and the offender was secured The officer did not require outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued for this assault. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
Boonville Correctional Center: At approximately 7:40 a.m. on Feb. 25, 2020, while trying to restrain an offender, two officers were injured. One officer injured their hand and the other officer injured to their shoulder. Additional officers responded, and the offender was secured. The officers received outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued for this assault. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
