Weekly advisories summarize serious assaults on corrections officers and other staff members in the line of duty as well as major disturbances and other significant incidents occurring in Missouri Department of Corrections facilities.
Dec. 14-20, 2020
South Central Correctional Center: On Dec. 15, 2020 at approximately 4:27 p.m., a staff member was assaulted by an offender. The offender spit at the staff member, hitting hi in the face, mouth, and upper body. The staff member did not seek outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
South Central Correctional Center: On Dec. 16, 2020 at approximately 4:22 p.m., an officer was assaulted by an offender. The offender spit in the left eye of the officer. The officer refused outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
South Central Correctional Center: On Dec. 17, 2020 at approximately 8:51 a.m., two staff members were assaulted by an offender. The offender bit one staff member on the left wrist and spit on his left cheek, which also struck the other staff member in the facial area. Both staff declined outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
South Central Correctional Center: On Dec. 17, 2020 at approximately 9:04 a.m., an officer was assaulted by an offender. The offender spit on the left hand of the officer. The officer refused outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
Northeast Correctional Center: On Dec. 17, 2020 an officer was assaulted by an offender. The offender bit the officer on the stomach. The officer did seek outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
South Central Correctional Center: On Dec. 18, 2020 at approximately 12:45 p.m., an officer was assaulted by an offender. The offender spit on the right side of the officer’s face. The staff member did not seek outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
Moberly Correctional Center: On Dec. 18, 2020, two staff members were assaulted by an offender. The offender lunged at the staff members striking them both with a closed fist. Outside medical attention was declined. A conduct violation was issued. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
