Assaults & Incidents

Weekly advisories summarize serious assaults on corrections officers and other staff members in the line of duty as well as major disturbances and other significant incidents occurring in Missouri Department of Corrections facilities.


Dec. 7-13, 2020

Algoa Correctional Center: On Dec. 7, 2020 at approximately 11:43 p.m., an officer was assaulted by an offender. The offender squirted an unknown liquid substance on the officer. The officer did not seek outside medical attention.  A conduct violation was issued.  Any assault may be referred for prosecution.

South Central Correctional Center: On Dec. 8, 2020 at approximately 3:22 p.m., an officer was assaulted by an offender. The offender pushed the officer up against a wall, struck her chest with a closed fist, and kicked her in the facial area. Staff gained control of the offender. The officer did seek outside medical attention.  A conduct violation was issued.  Any assault may be referred for prosecution.

Fulton Reception & Diagnostic Center: On Dec. 11, 2020 at approximately 7:25 p.m., a staff member was assaulted by an offender. The offender threw an unknown liquid believed to be urine on the staff member. The staff member did not seek outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.

Jefferson City Correctional Center: On Dec. 12, 2020, an officer was assaulted by an offender. The offender spit on and kicked the officer. The officer did seek outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
