Assaults & Incidents

Weekly advisories summarize serious assaults on corrections officers and other staff members in the line of duty as well as major disturbances and other significant incidents occurring in Missouri Department of Corrections facilities.


Feb. 4-10, 2019

Farmington Correctional Center: At approximately 11:16 a.m. on Feb. 4, 2019, an offender assaulted an officer and an institutional activity coordinator. The officer's shoulder and ankle were injured, and the activity coordinator sustained a minor abrasion on right wrist. Staff responded appropriately, and the offender was secured.  Both employees were examined by outside medical staff. A conduct violation will be issued for this assault. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.

Fulton Reception, Diagnostic & Correctional Center: At approximately 9:13 p.m. on Feb 9, 2019, an offender assaulted an officer. The offender struck the officer on his side and his face. Staff responded appropriately, and the offender was secured. The officer received outside medical treatment. A conduct violation will be issued for this assault. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.

Northeast Correctional Center: At approximately 8:55 a.m. on Feb 10, 2019, an offender assaulted an officer. The offender attempted to pull the officer toward the food port door. The officer responded appropriately, and the offender was secured. The officer did not require outside medical treatment. A conduct violation will be issued for this assault. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
