Assaults & Incidents

Weekly advisories summarize serious assaults on corrections officers and other staff members in the line of duty as well as major disturbances and other significant incidents occurring in Missouri Department of Corrections facilities.


Nov. 4-10, 2019

Eastern Reception, Diagnostic & Correctional Center: At approximately 3:23 p.m. Nov. 5, 2019, eight offenders took part in a fight. The wing was on lock down and normal operations resumed the following morning. No staff members were injured. Offenders seen by on site Medical staff with no serious injuries noted. A conduct violation was issued for this assault. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.

Farmington Correctional Center: At approximately 6:30 a.m. Nov. 6, 2019, an offender assaulted an officer. The officer was struck in the face area and exposed to offender’s blood. Additional officers responded and the offender was secured. The officer received outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued for this assault. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.

Farmington Correctional Center: At approximately 6:21 a.m. Nov. 9, 2019, an offender assaulted two officers. The offender struck the officers with a closed fist in the facial area. Additional officers responded and the offender was secured. The officers did not require outside medical attention. A conduct violation was issued for this assault. Any assault may be referred for prosecution.
