The Missouri state owned facility of Missouri Eastern Correctional Center (MECC) is comprised of approximately 42 acres in Franklin County. It has multiple buildings on the facility grounds which includes housing units, a recreational building, administrative offices, and other supportive services. The facility opened for operation in 1981. MECC offers programming that includes educational as well as vocational training to its residents. MECC provides additional opportunities for residents to volunteer or work within or outside of the facility.
