The Missouri state owned facility South Central Correctional Center (SCCC) is comprised of approximately 205 acres in Texas County. There are 21 buildings on the facility grounds to include seven housing units, central services building, MVE industries building, maintenance and staff training complex and more!  The facility was constructed in January of 1998 on existing farmland and opened as a correctional center in May 2000. At SCCC, there are 43 different types of programming available, including vocational work, to support its residents.  SCCC has five available opportunities for residents to volunteer or work within or outside of the facility.
