Information available from the Missouri Department of Corrections website include:

  • FAK930: Sunshine Law Data File (compressed and text format)
  • FAK930 file-layout: Sunshine Law File Layout
  • DOC Location: Location Acronym, Location Full Name, Start & End Dates
  • Field Description: Explanation of each field contained in the FAK930 file
  • Counties: Missouri County Acronym & Description File, counties

The following describes the contents of the Missouri Department of Corrections "Sunshine Law" Data File. The contents of this file are made available in response to requests that are governed by the requirements of Chapters 610 and 217 RSMo.

The referenced file contains information that is specific to all offenders that are currently under or have been under the supervision of the DOC at the date and time the file is created, with data as early as 1974. Our data has gone through multiple conversions to new systems, leading up to our current system which began in 1998.

The file contains information on both incarcerated and field-supervised (probation or parole) offenders. Field supervised offenders may be on probation, parole, or both. An incarcerated offender may also be on active probation for a separate charge.

The file consists of individual records for each charge associated with an offender's current supervision. Because of this, offenders may have multiple records contained within the file.
