Grand Opening of Veteran's Wing

Tipton Correctional Center hosted a Grand Opening for its Veteran’s Wing of Housing Unit 16 on. Saturday, May 18. There was a guest speaker, open house and refreshments.  All staff members were invited to attend.

Employee of the Month

Recreation Officer I Ashley Fleming

On Saturday January 12, 2019 there were many staff members working overtime due to bad weather. She was supervising offenders as they cleaned snow and ice off state and personal vehicles as well as around them, making it so the staff could leave quickly after working a long day. She worked overtime in the control center since we had numerous call ins/no shows during that time. Her willingness to help with whatever was needed is an asset to all staff members.

Retirements

As of April 1, OSA Mary Roth , who served as the education secretary, has officially retired after more than 20 years of service to the department. She worked as OSA in education at BCC from January 1999 to January 2008 and at TCC from January 2008 to April 2019. During this time, she saw many changes and played an essential role in the operation of the education department. The TCC Education Staff gave Mary an enjoyable send off by taking her out to lunch and presenting her with a goodbye gift. It is hoped that her retirement is filled with good health and many interesting adventures.
