Governor Parson Signs Historic Pay Raise Into Law

In early 2023, Governor Mike Parson signed into law a supplemental budget bill that gives all state team members an 8.7% cost-of-living pay increase and raises shift differential pay to $2 per hour. Corrections staff from throughout mid-Missouri gathered in front of Fulton Reception & Diagnostic Center to celebrate the historic pay raise. Since 2017, Missouri has invested $174,815,656 in pay increases for corrections staff, while the department has invested in staff initiatives and worksite programs that make the Missouri Department of Corrections an even better place to work. Improving Lives for Safer Communities

In the Missouri Department of Corrections, we foster public safety, health and wellness. We support victims and give back to people in need. We facilitate treatment, education and job training to equip justice-involved Missourians with the skills they need to contribute to the state’s communities, inside and outside our walls. About 96 percent of people who enter prison return to Missouri cities and towns. We want to make sure they're good neighbors.
